Session

The part of the trading day or market window a trade happened in.

Definition

A session refers to a time window of the market — for example the London or New York session — or simply the part of your day you traded. Grouping results by session can reveal when you trade best and when you should sit on your hands.

Example

You compare your morning and afternoon trades and find your afternoon session is consistently weaker. You decide to trade less after lunch.
