Overtrading

Taking too many trades, often out of boredom or impatience.

Definition

Overtrading is trading more than your plan calls for — forcing entries when there is no real opportunity. It racks up costs and exposes you to avoidable losses. Tracking how many trades you take, and why, helps you catch it.

Example

On a slow day you take eight trades instead of your usual two, just to feel busy. Most are low-quality and you finish red.
