AMM Slippage
The price impact your own trade causes when swapping against a liquidity pool.
Basis
The price gap between a futures/perp contract and the underlying spot market.
Funding Rate
A periodic payment between longs and shorts that keeps a perpetual contract near spot price.
Gas Fee
The network fee you pay to have a blockchain process and confirm your transaction.
Halving
A scheduled event that cuts a coin’s new-issuance reward in half (notably Bitcoin).
Market Capitalization
A token’s price multiplied by its circulating supply — a rough measure of total size.
Perpetual Futures
A futures contract with no expiry, kept near spot price by a periodic funding payment.
Spot vs Futures
Buying the actual asset now (spot) versus a leveraged contract on its price (futures).
Stablecoin
A crypto token designed to hold a steady value, usually pegged to a currency like the US dollar.
